I must be VERY stupid.

I have sent very few PM (Private Message) . . .
I do not know how the forum software handled them.

I am not even sure if they went to destination as I had no reply.
They appear to go into an "outbox" and I cannot see or find any way of sending them out.

I cannot see or find any "send" or "submit" or "OK" button.
They are just stuck in an "outbox".

I just feel stupid and probably am.

I was also confused by this to begin with Paul, but by clicking the Submit/Send button (can't remember exactly what the button says, off the top of my head..) does actually send the message as well as sending a copy to the Outbox. It's out of my control, it's just how it works.

BTW, I moved this to the Help and Support forum ;-)

Pete.

Found your response above by chance today the 28th.

You are making me understand that the submit button sends the PM to destination as well as putting a copy in the outbox . . .

BUT when you see the message IS in the outbox and the sent messages DOES NOT show it as sent. you can then understand my confusion.

Thanks for your explanation. I try to avoid using the PM facility.

I have been using phpBB since 2001 and I can tell you this is the very best and most user-friendly forum software ever written. Reading the FAQ is a must for all users with questions such as this one. If you didn't notice the reply, just check the "Notify me when a replay is posted" option before you post your topic. Or click "Subscribe topic" above the thread.
