Hi everyone,

Where to post this to reach as many viewers as possible.

In the forum having most readers of course and with apologies.

I was tired to look at Pete's legs. I now can see the most beautiful avatar in the forum.

If you agree "say so" _ _ _ _
If you disagree . . . SHUT UP.

See an enlargement attached.

Also you may go to the forum "What have you got" and to the thread "Monocoupe".

Some postings there are not only for the author of that thread.
Some posting that I (KILOP) posted are of general interest.

Please do not ask me how they got there. It had to do with the initial flight of the beautiful Monocoupe.

Hehehe, thanks Guys!

Paul, hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of editing your post to replace the enlarged avatar version with a cropped original one, for clarity.

I love that pic, she looks so deep in thought. What's a 3 month old baby got to think about so much, I wonder.
Some background info on the pic - it was taken in Barmouth which is a seaside town in Norht Wales, a few weeks ago. It wasn't that cold but the wind was quite strong and fresh. Isn't she just adorable in that bobbly hat?? :D

Pete,

Thanks for removing the pixels :)

The one thing that urged me to post about your new avatar is just that _ _ _

Carla is JUST ADORABLE and in a deep thinking physiological outlook.

You guys (includes females 8-) ) could not have done better.

All the best to Carla and the proud parents.

KILOP

Edited to change outloook to outlook.

Pete,

Kids in their young age often have this "inquisitive look" as they are so eager to learn.

It is an obvious sign of early development of the intelligence faculty. We can nearly see the neurons activity reflected in the eyes and vision of the child.

It is a reflection of "Ah! I see something new to me"; What is it ?

Thanks Mom and Dad for taking me here and see a beautiful beach in Barmouth, UK.

Oh! _ _ _ and my bobby hat is so cute, It keeps my head warm in this cool breeze.

Soon, sooner than you may think, I will have learned to talk and will tell you how happy I am of having such nice parents.

Soon you will not have to pick me up. I will also walk on my own and run right into your arms and tell you how much I love you.

Pete _ _ _
I know what I am talking about _ _ _ my wife and I had four kids.

Thanks Paul! :)

She's quite 'chatty' already, in her own little language (very cute) and she's certainly very aware of what's going on around her, she's constantly checking out everything that's going on. A good sign, I think.

Sadly she's just encountering her first cold.....

Greetings,

An out of topic back to topic _ _ _

I ran the Saito 125 this afternoon. Temperature 10C (50F);
a matter of finishing to tune the engine before re-installing the cowling.

I took a few pictures for the record.

No . . . the plane did not flip over on landing.
She was having a clean up on the bottom
My backyard is not quite large enough for a flight.
75' x 45' (about 22m x 14m) is just large enough for a bit of taxi.

The engine response is very nice and full throttle sure is pulling on these two strings tying the tail to the other end of the picnic table.

If you have not seen before the difference between a top view and a bottom view _ _ _ here it is in pictures.

Now is that plane flying right side up or upside down?
It is difficult to tell; don't you think so?

I want to add some registration characters on the wings and fuselage side. Not decals . . . painted on with red dope on top of right top wing and blue dope on the left bottom of the bottom wing and fuselage sides.

Oh! I forgot to resize the pics.
I will post and edit to add the pics.

Nice pics, Paul! I really like that plane ('Starduster'?), I think I should try a bipe one day.
Great colour scheme I think, very easy to see what it's doing in the sky :-)

It looks like it's just standing there on the table, no restraints at all? Or is the tail wheel wedged down there in the gap? Or is there just no pitch on the prop...

Those pics are definitely worthy of a new thread in the 'What have you got?' forum!

Pete,

The model is a Super Skybolt.
Wingsapn 57 inches.
Weight 10 lbs.
Engine Saito 125 (four strokes).
Fuselage and tail finish, nylon and Sig dope.
Wings finish, polyester cloth and Randolph dope.
Glue, SIG-MENT, 12 min and 30 min epoxy.
Flying wires on tail and wings are active and each one akjustable for tension. Installed as per the full size Skybolt.
Tail assembly all removable. Bolted, not cemented.
Fuel tank and battery removable without dismantling the wings.
Upper wing removable without any screws and nuts and without removing the flying wires.
Lower wing removable with only two nylon bolts.
Landing gear can break off without affecting the flying wires.
The CG is at the leading edge of the lower wing.
The fuel used is Morgan Cool Power with 10% or 15% nitro.
100 % covered with fabric and dope making the whole structure very strong.
The whole wood structure is double and tripled glued with glue fillets everywhere. Glue fillets increase the binding areas of all joins up to five times.

I posted to break up the "non topic postings".
I also thought some more advanced hobbyist might like to see it.
It is not a plane for beginners.

I do not intend this posting to stay in the forum.
It is there for a few days for the possible interest of some viewers.

I am asking you to delete the posting and pictures as well as this posting in about a week from now.
Hope you will cooperate.

The stabilizer is tied to the other end of the picnic table with two independent strong loops of strings so it cannot move forward during the engine run and tuning.

On a previous test the static thrust was well over 8 lbs at less than full throttle. My fish scale cannot read over 8 lbs and was reading max at less than full throttle.

I will answer any possible questions from readers or beginners that may like to get into building their own plane or kit.

Thanks,

KILOP

We'll leave it here for a bit then I'll move it over to the 'What have you got?' forum along with the info on it you've given above.
Yes, Super Skybolt, I should have remembered the name from previous postings  - I don't know why I thought Starduster. Ah yes I do, it was a bipe (full size) in the flying club I used to be - it looked very similar to your Skybolt. One day, on final approach, it took the top 3 feet off a pine tree!! Could have been nasty but fortunately wasn't; that's probably why that plane sticks in my mind.
