I wish I had came here first before I purchased my first heli but I love it anyway. I have 3 helis and can't fly one of them.lol. I orginally bought a Dragonfly 36b very nice and crashed it the first day. Fixed it and decided to upgrade the main rotor head and tail rotor ( I'm pretty good with repairing things) its still a work in prgress now. I also have a walkera 4g3 3d heli with brushless motor upgrade and full metal main rotor head upgrade. I bought this one to practice flying in the house with after learning a hard lesson from trying to fly my 36b in the house. The other heli is a heli-max novus cp v3 with all the upgrades also purchased for indoor flying. The problem I'm having is that I can't seem to get neither one off the ground. They both start up well no vibration but when you try to hover, no response. They move a little but no lift off no matter how you move the sticks or adjust the pitch. What am I doing wrong here??? Is there something I'm missing????

Thks Bry

Bry,

It is not easy to diagnoze such a problem without being with you.

I understand the first heli Dragonfly 36B is being repaired.
The two others Walkera 4G3 and Heli-Max novus CP V3 both do not lift off the floor.

I have looked at all three helis on the internet and the last two with a common failure to lift are quite different. However since they both exhibit the same problem it would appear that the cause is common.

I have no way of knowing your general knowledge.
I can only mention things I would check _ _ _

-- The battery voltage for both heli and Tx.
-- The control response on the heli . . . (main rotor angle of attack over a fullrevolution) ... (collective, forward (pitch down) backward (pitch up) sideways (roll left and right) yaw (tail rotor pitch response).
-- The clutch adjustment on throttling up.
-- Any backlash in the control levers (rods between servos and horns)
-- Any disconnected control levers; particularly on the collector control.

I imagine you have made yourself familiar with the response of the main rotor blade angle of attack as it revs and respond to the stick control of the transmitter.

Also check any abnormal friction (too stiff) of all the control rods.

Hey _ _ _ troubleshooting is part of the fun in this hobby.
Be thourough and patient.

Let us know what you do or did. The information may be helpful to other readers.

Good luck,

KILOP

Hi Bry,

It's strange that two different helis are suffering the same problem. Which charger are you using to charge the motor battery packs? And have you changed any pitch settings at all, on either model?
Do you have any time flying a CP heli on a simulator? Such helis are very hard to fly and take a lot of time to master, especially without a simulator!
