Hello Mike,

Just confirming your first posting and welcoming you aboard.

I have never built an airship or a dirigeable but if you have, you would have no problem interesting me to build one.

There is a lot of exciting new technology for RC airships. We have been flying 13' and 20' blimps outdoors, in the wind, Unteathered! check out our site lot of good pics. www.fotoblimp.com

I was thinking about one but... they are to sensitive for crosswinds so nearly only to fly indoor!
You can get big once but they are expensive and even the Helium filling for them is

I love the way they look and fly in the Air..but think not a Modell for me right now

regards Uwe

Mike,

You did not respond to my second posting so I removed it.

Sadly it´s the way of internet forums, Paul - I think Mike´s only intention, judging by a previous post that I removed, was to get a link to his site. Spamming is another name for it ;-)

like maccuahm said blimping is expensive. the foto blimp is just a way we are trying to make some money back. Our blimps are powerful, we clocked the big one at 35 mph that means any wind less than 35 is flyable. and I am looking into cheaper lifting gas.

sorry it took so long to get back. I would love to awnser all those questions you posted, but I have been working alot lately. It seems like actualy doing things is cutting into my time to talk about it on the internet.
I only posted the link because I lost the card for my camera phone and that was the easiest way to show you some pictures.

I am starting to build a set of control fins from balsa and monokote. like model airplane wings. this will be my first atempt a this kind of construction I thought I could find some advice here. sadly it is the way of internet forums for people make accusations about people they don't know. and act high and mighty if the have the power to remove posts. if i wanted someone to judge my intentions i would have gone to my ex girlfriends for advice.

Mike, my removal of your first post a while ago was quite justified as far as I'm concerned - you came in with no introduction to yourself, you merely stated that the info on my rc blimps page was out of date without stating any facts to back that up, and ended the sentance with a "check out my site". It came across as a black and white commercial spam post. Need I say more??

The rules and guidelines to this forum, if you'd care to read them, make it quite clear that this is a friendly and respectful forum, contrary to what you clearly think, and that single posts that appear as nothing more than a commercial plug won't be accepted. Yours was, I'm afraid to say, exactly that.

So please drop the "high and mighty" accusations and be a welcome member of this forum by contributing some useful blimp info, as you just have in your last reply, instead of just plugging your site.

As for my 'spamming' comment above, that was justified too. Come in, post a link and then disappear. What are we supposed to think ??

And by the way, I actually do have the power to remove posts!

Mike,

The blimps pictures are interesting.

Are you going to follow by showing us how to make one?

Do you have data to show us a "build log" ?

What is the envelope made of ?

Does it take its shape just by inflation ? Helium ?

Length is about 20 feet, I understand.
How about diameter? I am guessing about 10 feet from the photos.

Where should be the CG range ?

What is the ready to inflate weight with all ready to fly ?

Recommended power installation ?

How is the climb and descent controlled ?

Can the helium be recovered when it is deflated for transporrtation ?

Your response would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

KILOP
